REMINISCENCE IN A SHOPPING CENTRE

It was a bit of an experiment our five week stint in a shopping centre. An unknown quantity. How would shoppers react to a unit full of our memorabilia, old photos and displays? Well we average 100 visitors a day. We have Leithers in, folk from up the town and tourists. A grand mix of people that seem to understand what we are about and appreciate us being amongst the shops.

We’ve had a steady flow of donations, from a scout uniform to a rag rug. A scanner is set up to copy the steady flow of old photos that have been coming in. The public have been very keen to be involved and we’ve had many repeat visits.

Many thanks to Alison Bancroft for making the initial contact and her continued support and Dennis Jones of Ocean Terminal for allowing us to stay.
